As a woman, i have been also bestowed with a similarly humiliating pet name. But in the defense of all Bengali mothers, the silly pet names are an expression of their affections. They don't see them as the stud they really are, but as the baby they held in their arms and taught them how to walk. Bengali women feel that no matter how much Indrojeet or Surjo might accomplish in the outside world, they will be Khokon or Bubai at home.
